TDI-upgrades ENG

Tuning any engine creates a risk of engine failure. You as the engine owner must acknowledge this risk. If you are afraid of something braking up then it may be better to forget the whole idea of tuning. FIN-Turbo as a company does not guarantee your engine. Either do we not comment on the legality of things considering tuning. The turbochargers listed here are meant for racing and off-road purposes only.

Other useful information
To complement the upgrade turbocharger and to achieve the power figures mentioned, also other upgrade parts are needed. Large fuel injectors and software changes to engine ECU are the most common and almost always obligatory. With the largest chargers designed to achieve top hp figures, also intercooler, intake and exhaust pipe and sometimes even inner engine changes are needed or recommended. Our designs are based on these principles:
1. Engine works as well or better than from the factory.
2. Safety and reliability of the tuned engine.
3. Reliable installation – no ’DIY’ crap.

Our view is that tuning is more than just maximum hp values. Drivability is as important as pure power and thus it’s good to take a look at area under the dyno curves instead of top hp values.

In order to have a reliable engine for years it’s important to use good quality oil and change it often enough, rather more often than recommended. we don’t recommend ‘longlife’ oil changes with tuned engines. Shutting down the engine immediately after hard driving is not too wise either.

With air filters it’s best and usually most economical to use OEM filters. Some ‘free-flow’ filters permit too much dirt to pass through and this leads to worn compressor wheel at the least. Some other free-flow filters just don’t flow enough air.

B.    Custom Upgrade VNT-Turbochargers for 1.9 and 2.0 TDI engines

Guarantee of 45 days is given only when the VNT-turbocharger is installed and mechanically adjusted at our co-operator.
To fully enjoy the capabilities of these chargers we strongly recommend custom chip-tuning at one of our co-operators. In the case the vehicle is previously chipped with stock turbocharger we recommend immediate re-chipping.

GT1749VB for 170 - 200 hp range. Basic ’Stg 1’ charger for mild tuning – for daily driver. With charge pipe adapter (€80,-) this fits almost all vehicles. With comp housing changes straight fitment to all mentioned vehicles.
We deliver bolt-on Gt1749VB charger also for longitudinal engines!
